Rye Valley Foods, Enniskillen is a Bakkavör Group Company producing frozen, microwaveable "hand held" snacks and chilled desserts at its plant in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland.
Malone O’Regan was retained by Rye Valley Foods as Overall Project Manager and Civil and Structural Engineer for the construction of the plant which comprises circa 6,150 sq.m. on a green field site with flexibility for future expansion.
The facility included a wide range of specialist machinery which had to be installed at various stages of building within a fast track construction programme in accordance with planning approval and stringent building regulations. Furthermore, as a food production plant, strict legislative and hygiene demanded a clear understanding of the issues of segregated circulation, the selection of appropriate food grade materials temperature and humidity control and finishing details.
The main structure is in steel clad primarily in pvc coated aluminium insulated panels.
